Wollangambe Walk – Blue Mountains Guided Bushwalk
8
Grade: Medium | Distance: 8 km | Time: 5 hrs | Max group size: 8 | Meeting Point: Mt Wilson, 8.00 am
About This Walk
Discover one of the most rewarding Blue Mountains guided walks with our half-day Wollangambe adventure. Starting at Mt Wilson, we journey through the rare and beautiful Basalt Forest—an endangered ecological community that thrives on rich volcanic soils—before descending into the open sclerophyll woodlands that characterise this part of the Blue Mountains.
As you follow the trail, you'll encounter striking rock pagodas, rugged canyon cliffs and sweeping views that showcase the dramatic geology of the region. For those seeking a touch of adventure, there's the option to take a short side trip through a narrow slot canyon. With only knee-deep water, it's a safe and fun way to experience the thrill of canyoning without ropes or technical gear.
The Experience
The walk includes a relaxing break at a sandy riverside beach along the Wollangambe River. Here, you can enjoy a light brunch, explore the peaceful surroundings, dip your toes in the water, or simply take in the tranquillity of this stunning natural setting.
Depending on the group's energy and preference, we'll return along the same path or take a more direct route back to Mt Wilson. With a small group size (maximum 8 participants), this guided bushwalk offers a personal and immersive experience in one of the most beautiful corners of the Blue Mountains.
