A stunning lower-canyon journey through the Wollangambe
The Wollangambe 2 Canyon • Lilo Adventure is a beautiful full-day exploration of the lower section of the Wollangambe River. It blends long, tranquil floats with classic canyon scenery and a real sense of remoteness. A little longer than the Wollangambe 1 trip, this route rewards you with extended swims, deeper channels and walls that rise dramatically all around you.
What makes this canyon special
As you move deeper into this section of the canyon, the walls narrow and climb overhead, creating long stretches of cool, calm water where your lilo becomes your main mode of travel. The ambience shifts as the canyon darkens and soft light filters down between the sandstone.
The swims are longer here, making it an excellent choice for confident swimmers who enjoy being immersed in water for extended periods.
With consistently cool temperatures throughout the season, wetsuits and lilos are provided to keep you warm and comfortable during the journey.
What the day looks like
You’ll begin with a steady approach walk before entering the river and starting the mix of wading, paddling and swimming that carries you through the canyon. Expect:
Peaceful, extended lilo floats
Scenic pools framed by towering sandstone
Gentle flowing currents
A mix of wading, scrambling and short swims
It’s a longer day compared to Wollangambe 1, but the pace is relaxed and the rewards are plentiful.
